Introducing Isla Zi Shao

We can't begin to express how excited we are right now. This is Isla. She was born in the south of China in the Guangdong province on Dec 2oth 2006 and is currently in an orphanage in Yangxi county.

Enjoying a peaceful excursion in the country side.

Isla taking the directors role at the orphanage.

Booked after being caught attempting the V0 crib problem.

We received a call from our agency yesterday at 1pm. I was at work and Barb was at home so we couldn't be together when we learned who our daughter would be. Fortunately we were able to have a conference call though a phone is not easy to hug.

Our agency received a package that contains more info but its all in Chinese and they will need to translate it before we learn more about Isla. This should happen early next week and they hope to have the translations to us by midweek.

It was wonderful share the news with everyone yesterday... and we are still calling more of Isla's new friends and family today.

Update: Sorry to remove the pitures. Once we receive our packet we realized we were not supposed to post to pictures online. Family / friends please contact us if you haven't seen her yet.

Hi,

I recognize those backgrounds in the photos. Our 4 yr old daughter is from the same swi- Yangxi. It is a good swi and our daughter came to us in perfect health. There is a yahoo group for this swi. Good luck, she is beautiful.

Based on the name of your daughter, I believe she is from the same orphanage as my daughter. Just in case you didn't know already, there is a Yahoo Group for the Yangxi SWI parents at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/yangxi

Clearly, a natural-born leader.

Congratulations!
We just came across your blog and your daughter's beautiful picture. Our daughter is from the same orphanage in Yangxi! I visited this orphanage in 2005 and it was very clean, and the babies seemed very healthy and well-cared for. Maybe you'll get to visit, too. The staff was so gracious and took us on a tour of the city to see our babies' finding locations. All the best to you and your family...

Your lovely daughter shares her birthday with my daughter Analise who will be 7 this year. She was born in Jiangxi province and we were lucky enough to spend her first birthday in Hong Kong with her on our way home from China. I hope you will travel swiftly and be united as soon as possible. We will remember your family when we celebrate Analise's birthday!

I NEVER post to anything but feel compelled to now. I must have come to your blog a hundred times over the weekend while waiting for news from our agency. Your daughter is beautiful and your narration tickled me! After posting our blog link at RQ I noticed we had a comment from ya'll! When I returned to your blog I noticed the info on Isla's name. My mother's roots are Scottish and she is VERY into it. Hopefully, our girls are hanging out and keeping each other company while they wait for us. It seems we have a few things in common. I hope we get to meet ya'll when we retrieve our babes!

I see that my Lainey Bug has already told you of my Scottish heritage and that I am "into it". She neglected to mention that I have made 2 trips to Scotland and cancelled my 3rd one last year hopeing to travel to China long before now. I will be traveling with Lainey Bug's parents to retrieve her. I hope to meet you both. I am sure "our girls" are great friends.
